The small poor village hadn't changed much since Eidolon last saw it. The buildings were still small and decrepit. The smell of urine and death was thick in the air. He had forgotten that part, the smell, for some reason it had slipped from his memory. He walked slowly through the dirty street. Everyone was asleep, the moonless sky as black as his heart.
There it was. His childhood home. It looked exactly as it did all those years ago. Eidolon smiled for the first time in his life, or at least thats how it felt. It was not a smile of joy, or happy memories. It was a dark evil smile, of knowing what was to happen next. Eidolon stepped towards the door to the house and unlocked it with the wave of his hand. The metallic click of the lock was barely audible. He slowly opened the door. His father had finally gotten around to fixing the squeak.
Eidolon slowly walked through the small house, past the room his brothers and him had shared, and straight to the door of his parents room. It was open a half inch as it had been during his childhood. The door slowly opened as Eidolon walked into the room and approached the bed of his sleeping parents. "Hello father," he said as he stood over the bed. His fathers eyes opened. As if not believing what he was seeing, his father closed his eyes and opened them as wide as he could.
"But- But-" Was all his father could manage to say before his mother opened her eyes and screamed. "Oh, hello mother." Eidolon stepped closer to the bed and pulled the two sabers off of his belt. His parent's screams could be heard throughout the entire village.
Eidolon awoke suddenly as if from a bad dream. He stood and walked through the kitchen grabbing a fruit off the table. Putting on his traveling cloak he took one last look through his childhood home. As he walked through the street he looked around at the small village. There was no movement. Everything was completely quiet. Doors to houses hung from their hinges, windows were broken, walls had large holes in them, and blood covered the streets. "Weak bastards," he said before biting into the fruit. The village he grew up in was now an empty ghost town.
