History:
He like most of his brothers (species) were born on Togoria, as a child he learned Togorian and galactic basic by the miners that slaved him into work. He was useful but caused much unease in the mining core while the other Togorian males were raged by such a slavery, but they were more raged that the miners had stole the child from one of their villages. The Togorian males gathered arms and planned an assault on the miners to retrieve the child. It was the very same night when the child snuck aboard a republic freighter that stopped in to drop off supplies.
The night truly came, it was well into the midnight hour when twenty male Togorians annihilates the mining camp and slaughtered all in their way as they searched for the child. They were enraged when they could not find the one they called Garlin. The child was discovered on board by Jedi Master Joey Trek who had felt the prescience of another strong in the force aboard the very ship he was on. He confronted the child and when the ship arrived on Coruscant he sought the council out which reluctantly agreed to allowing the Togorian to join the order. At first Trek called him simply Togorian, he was strict about it until he noticed the child's nag for bringing people together, for bringing a smile to even the most stern faces.
Trek chose a name for him, Gattai, meaning 'Unite'. He also passed on his surname to really Unite Gattai to someone he could consider family in the future. Gattai was only three, he was already tall as it was and he would only continue to grow. Trek taught Gattai in the ways of the force first and decided to let him fill out before he began training with a saber. He figured he would train the boy in physical fitness and a form of hand to hand combat that he could adapt with no matter how large he grew. The training was tough on the child, but his natural build adapted quickly and continued to gain strength and power, even as he grew he got faster by building his leg muscle and became more agile by the time he was fully grown. He was approaching his 16th birthday at this time...
Now standing at a towering nine foot eight, he was massive, weighing approximately 250 lbs at the time, it was pure muscle and could crush a mans skull with little effort. But as aggressive as he looked he was probably the most passive Jedi of his time. He had trouble learning with a normal saber as it was too small for his hands and the saber was too short with his own range. Trek had a custom one made for him, it would be twice as long as the average light saber which would be about six feet in total length. He was instructed to follow the moves Trek did, he tried and tried but it came out different each time. Trek decided it was because of his build, size, weight, and total mass.
For the next year Trek worked on making a new style, one that Gattai could use easily. Once finished he tested it out and taught it to Gattai who adapted to it well. With Treks vast knowledge of combat and brilliance with range he had created possibly the strongest saber style possible and it was all for one person, one who wouldn't pass on his own style but would instead teach students in discipline rather then combat, he would teach them how to harness the force as an ally rather then a sentient of combat. But in his early days he was ill prepared for full on combat. It was also noticed by Trek who was a master in saber combat. Trek taught Gattai how to parry blows, how to counter, when to strike, when to step back, he learned the basics then he learned the advanced.
When he mastered the new style he was granted the rights to create off of it, he was also then given the rights to claim it has his own personal style as no one in the order aside from him could use it effectively. He created power house moves and defense techniques, he put together combo's and perfect steps, he was devastating in sparring matches with training sabers and in hand to hand sparring he could bring any man down easily. Trek believed it was time to promote him, but first he would be forced through the trials without knowing it.
He would face the dark side, he would face death, war, redemption, and forced love. Each would test his will to the Jedi and how well he focused on being passive in the times of darkness. He was sent to the chamber of the nine in the temple where he endured the test. His first trial was the dark side, he envisioned many things of his past gone wrong, he easily withstood the temptation. He then faced war where several visions come to him and he was forced to battle. He easily pushed aside this task. Next was redemption, but it was the easiest of them all for he had nothing to be redeemed for. Finally came love, which was the one thing he had little trouble with. He wasn't introduced to any female to his species, so he felt no other love then friendship. He exited the chamber wielding the ceremony saber which was used to promote him to the rank of Jedi.
Now his tasks were harder, he was allowed outside of the academy alone and had many missions assigned to him. Usually they were to withhold piece between two or more people, but ever so often he'd get a job that was exciting. His favorite was one which he had traveled to Onderon where he would settle a case of civil war, it broke out heavy and he had to do battle. But in the end few had died because of his swift actions and finally he got the chance to ride the back of a Drexl.
He was a key figure to the Jedi keeping their pupils entertained, he was only too often to give a humerus story or a joke or two. He'd siphon a laugh from anyone he could talk to. His humor was often put into the play of his work as well. He only too often laid down a humerus taunt to try and lighten the mood between he and his foe. Though this wouldn't help much when he entered a job on the surface of Dxun where he would be led to an ancient tomb of a sith lord he was unsure about.
In the tomb he tackled a few Dark Jedi but the real challenge came when his saber was knocked from his hand in battle against a Terentatek. The Terentatek rushed after him and swiped which barely caught the flesh of his left arm cutting him deep enough to render scars when they healed later on. Gattai tried to tackle the Terentatek head on and even though his brute force and sheer power was enough to hold it off for moments and push it back sometimes he was still over powered by the beast itself. His only hope was to somehow locate his saber in the large cracks that riddled the ground where the Terentatek had walked for hundreds of years.
He jumped when it rushed and bounced off of its large skull, he rolled and began swiftly running checking each crack for the saber. The Terentatek rushed at him again and pinned him against the wall with its tusks. At that moment he noticed the shine of silver and called his saber from the ground below. With one hand still holding the beast back by the nose he inserted the other in the mouth and ignited the blade inside cutting it from inside out. It fell dead and he returned to the Temple to report his findings, of the numerous rooms that held such beasts and their trainers. For this he was given the Jedi Knight rank.
Times became tough in war, his deeds to the republic and order granted him the Master rank by age 30. By this time Jedi Master Trek had passed through the force, he left all of his possessions to Gattai. The ceremony was long and drawn out so all Jedi could pay their respects, and it was interrupted by a sith fleet. Gattai was raged but held it all in. He assaulted any sith assassin that got close and without any means of holding back he cut them down one by one. It was through his brute power that forced the assassins to retreat, mainly out of fear by his very features.
Gattai confessed his anger to the council and was honored for how well he had held it in after the attack itself. His next actions in the war were watched closely. He led a team of Jedi to capture sith insurgents and not one was killed. His valor in battle and his new found wisdom was honored once more and given a seat on the council itself.
For the remainder of his time fighting in the war he was a key favorite in requested assistance. When the sith assaulted the Coruscant temple he was present and he along with several other council members forced the sith from the temple. Gattai never left the chamber in which the younglings were. (battle sample)....
After the fall of the republic he was left to train anyone who came his way. He kept a low profile but it was hard being as large as he was. Only too often did he gather too much attention to himself. But even so many locals knew him as a Jedi but none would ever tell the sith his status or who he was. His path only opens further as he investigates sith sightings on Nar Shadda...
Role Play Sample:
The whirl of mechanics sounded in the walls and doors as they opened. It was a single sith who entered the room with the younglings. The mans horrid face twisted into a saddistic smile, "I see, now I shall have the pleasure of hearing your screams."
Never once did the sith notice the sentient creature kneeling to his left as being alive. He did when Gattai stood, "I wont allow harm to any of these children." The sheer size of the monster made the sith flinch and double take. He all at once drew his saber and saw Gattai do the same, his saber blade alone was probably as long as he was in height, this was a situation he didn't want to tackle.
The sith stepped into striking range of Gattai who acted swiftly but was blocked, he stepped forward and palm pressed the sith in the chest which pushed him across the room, off his feet and into the wall. Bone had broke in the siths chest, blood poured into his left lung but he stood again shaking from head to toe.
"I Gattai Trek give you one chance to lay down your weapon in the name of the council and surrender. First and final warning," he said in his growling voice. To no surprise the sith rushed, he swung his light saber and Gattai didn't even move his, he caught the mans arm and shattered the wrist forcing him to drop his saber. He pulled the man forward and put his foot into his thigh breaking it as well making sure he couldn't run, "You are now under arrest, resist... I dare you."
